Fenolip Supra 160

Fenofibrate micronized

Hypercholesterolemia (type IIa) & endogenous hypertriglyceridemia either isolated (type IV) or associated (type IIb & III) when diet alone is insufficient.

1 caplet once daily.

Should be taken with food: Take during meals. Swallow whole w/ water.

Hypersensitivity or phototoxicity. Allergy to peanuts, nut oil, soy lecithin, or other related products. Liver, kidney & gallbladder disorders, acute or chronic pancreatitis. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.

Transaminase level should be monitored every 3 mth during the first 12 mth of therapy. May cause pancreatitis. Patients w/ hypoalbuminemia & pre-existing kidney disorders. May cause muscle toxicity. Patients who have a risk of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. Closely monitor patients w/ signs of muscle toxicity if given concomitantly w/ other fibrate or HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, especially in pre-existing muscular disorders. Should not be used in patients w/ hereditary galactosemia, glucose-galactose malabsorption disorders or lactase deficiency. Treatment should be stopped if creatinine increased >50% ULN. Monitoring of creatinine should be performed during the 1st 3 mth of treatment.

Indigestion, gastric or intestinal disturbances (abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence), pancreatitis, increased transaminase serum level, gallstones, hepatitis, rash, pruritus, urticaria, photosensitivity reactions, alopecia, skin photosensitivity, diffuse myalgia, myositis, muscle cramps & weakness, rhabdomyolysis, thromboembolism, reduced Hb & leucocyte, impotence, ILD, increased serum creatinine & urea.

Anticoagulants, resin, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, oral hypoglycemic agents.
